6 Month Slackness Update!

Hello Everyone,

Time flies when you're having fun! That is certainly what Hayden would be thinking anyway. In the last six months he really has become a boy! He no longer has a baby look and shows great enthusiasm to all aspects of life.
He definitely loves his little sister, albeit too enthusiastically sometimes!

He is still loving Gymnastics, Music, Swimming as extra curricula activities and loves even more just playing in the backyard with his digger, dumptruck, bucket and a healthy dose of imagination! He may very well be a commentator one day as he gives pretty good and consistent run-downs of what he is doing!

Hayden has loved being a Friend of the Zoos this year and thrives on seeing the animals. He particularly loves the meerkats and Tony the Giraffe!

He was measured just the other day at the age of 2 years and 7 months at 94cm tall. He is growing up extremely quickly!

Picasso, Rembrant, Pro Hart!!!

Our budding artist was at it today. We did footprints of the family and then he settled in to create a master piece using the left over paint. Raw talent here I think! Where he gets it from, we are not sure!

Happy Easter!

Hayden had so much fun this Easter. He followed the Easter Bunnies footsteps to a treasure of eggs and an elegant bunny. He was then invited to Auntie Kim's for another easter egg hunt. Mum & Dad even got to join in this inaugural hunt. Thanks Auntie Kimmy!

Look out Tiger

Hayden has been very spoilt in the last three weeks as all our wonderful family and friends try to make sure that he is not feeling left out.

His latest present, that Adam bought home today, was his very first golf club. Hopefully his parents will be retired before you know it (with money put away for him in a trust of course...)!

The next generation

Hayden is now going to have to battle for attention. Not only has his little sister arrived, but there is also a cousin to contend with. Nat has given birth to Finn Thomas Gray, at 9lbs 3oz he should be able to hold his own. Hayden still has the record though...

Where's he at?!

Words Hayden is using;

drink please thank-you
truck duck stuck yuk
(can be hard to know which one at any given time!)
more car bin baby
up doggy cat star
bicky there letterbox motorbike (mum understands the last two, others probably wouldn't!) shoes socks nappy

stringing some words together, ie. more please!!!
or "me mum please" when he wants a bit of what mums got!

Has worked out the names of everyone in the family, and will even point to photos and say names.
Also doing really well with animal names and some noises. Cow, horse, frog, sheep, pig, dog, cat, duck, moth, fly, bee, chicken.
Lots of parroting going on where he will copy words (trying to teach him badonkadonk at the moment!)

He is currently obsessed with;
trucks - makes for a long trip to Melbourne with every truck pointed out to you. Can be a good distraction though if he is sick of car!
bins - makes for a long walk on rubbish collection day!
babies (and patting their heads) - hayden was holding onto the bar at gym one day when a baby went past, both hands straight off the bar so that he could point and say baby (luckily mum had hold of him)
moths - great way to stir him up just before bed. Points, laughs, runs on spot.
Isaac - as soon as Nat's name is mentioned by anyone, out comes Isaacs name.
dogs - has been forever!
his willy - anytime he has nappy off that is all he cares about. typical boy.

He is running, jumping, clapping, spinning, rolling, catching (sometimes), kicking (ball not people!), blowing kisses.
Can point to most body parts; nose, ears, mouth, puku (belly button), belly, toes, knees, eyes etc.
He also loves going for bike rides, swims, and to Kindergym.

Still waiting for his eye teeth - on their way though!

First Real Haircut

Today Hayden went and had a haircut with Grandma at the real hairdressers.

He didn't really enjoy it much - too much hair everywhere, and buzzers in his ears.

I'm not sure how impressed Grandma was when she found out that her haircut cost 4 times as much as Haydens. That was despite her sitting still, putting on her cloak, and losing less hair! Hayden wiggled and squirmed, and cried and lost lots of hair.

Here tis...

Animals/Holidays

Well it has been a whole term since the last post - what slack parents!

Hayden's vocab has increased 10 times. He is absolutely fascinated with cars, trucks, diggers - all the boy stuff! He is also fascinated with animals - particularly doggies. Particularly doggies that chase things when you throw them.
Here are some animal themed photos taken over the last couple of weeks. The turtle and birds are from his farmstay holiday in Buninyong. Our host, Livvy, owns the turtle, and dad took Hayden to a brid park to see all sorts of different birds. Before the farmstay holiday we also visited a mobile farm set up on the Waterfront, which is where the picture of the pig was taken.

Hayden had a magnificent 6 days at Byron Bay with mum, dad and friends. He had great fun with his new friend Lachlan, and running around in the backyard while dad and the boys were in the spa. Here are some happy snaps;

Hedge cutting

Traditional Hedge Cutting Day saw Hayden working very hard all day. He was riding in wheel barrows, dancing on the piles of cuttings and eating yummy vanilla slice. What a day!

Like father like son! After a hard day working!

Deep in thought, contemplating life

Static! - What's Static?

What?!
Can't a guy have a bad hair day?

Piano Lessons

Hayden loved his new piano lessons on Uncle Marcus' Piano but is thinking of hiring a bodyguard after he was mobbed by his adoring fans.

Homer in training

Hayden loves iced donuts. His mum doesn't love the sticky spots around the house though. All you mums out there - they are an outside food!

for you boy boy

I have been teaching Hayden a new trick just for you.
POOOOOOOOOwwwweeeeeee - You smell!

Grandma asked him what he was doing yesterday and he said he was doing "poo". And he was!

Belated birthday news

Mum and dad got Hayden a bike seat so that he can go out on bike rides. His new helmet doesn't bother him at all, and he loves watching the shadows as he whizzes around.

Strongman

Over the last couple of months there have been running repairs to Hayden's cot. He has managed to shake it until it has come apart three times so far.

What a mess!

These photos were taken a couple of weeks ago while Hayden was practising using a spoon to feed himself. Perhaps I should have given him something that wasn't quite so sloppy!

Back online

I know, I know...it has been forever since a new post has been put on. Unfortunately there have been technical difficulties meaning that we have been unable to update, or even view, the blog. These difficulties have now been resolved and you can look forward to some updated images/goss of Hayden. Over the next week there should be a few postings, so keep checking.
