With Christmas and a first birthday rapidly approaching we wanted to remind you that Hayden is blessed to have been born in Australia, where the issue of child poverty is very minor compared with many other countries around the world.
He has parents that can provide everything he needs in way of shelter, food and clothing, as well as extra 'creature comforts'. He also has a massive extended family that give him lots of love.
At the request of several family memers we have set up a bank account in Hayden's name. This will allow family and friends to invest in Hayden's future. We would request that if you were thinking of giving Hayden a Christmas or birthday present that instead of buying him something, you instead contribute what you would have otherwise spent into his account.
Alternatively, you could contribute this money to a charity that can help other children in less fortunate circumstances.
(deposit slips or bank account details are available from Hayden's parents. If you are thinking about donating to a charity a good point of information is www.makepovertyhistory.com.au)

XLII
Hayden has a new tooth popping through at the top (beside front), and another one on the way(opposite side).
He is still the most beautiful boy in the world.
He is also starting to make a move. He has been crawling around and getting into everything for the last few weeks, but today he pulled himself up on the coffee table and started to walk along the side of it.
He is also inhaling food. Still eats whatever we give him, but after he has his own meal he harrasses anyone else that is eating until they give him more.

XL

OK - so he looks like a little girl - but so very cute!!!
This photo was taken today, so now you know exactly what he looks like at the moment.
He has a ribbon in his hair because it is Aunty Trace's birthday and this ribbon was on the present that Hayden and family gave her.
Hayden is now very mobile. He is pulling himself up to stand on anything and everything, climbing the stairs at grandma and grandads house, and crawling to wherever it is that he wants to go at that particular time.
We can't see any top teeth coming through yet, but we think they are on the way as he was not well on Friday and woke up at midnight, 1am, 2am, 3am, 3.30am, 4.30am and then managed to sleep through until about 7am.
Sunday night was a bit better, but mum ended up taking him for a three hour walk in the morning (7.30 - 10.30am) so that he could have a sleep in the pram, and dad could have a bit of a sleep in.
Monday night was better again, and then last night he slept through until 6am. Yay! 6am doesn't sound that great but then he climbed into bed with mum and slept until 9am. Then he got up for brekky and a feed then went back to bed for another hour!! Not a bad life. Now he is at Granny's stuffing his face with biscuits and rockmelon!

XXXV - Going to school
Hayden came to school to visit Dad and ended up staying for lunch with the teachers in the staffroom, while Mum and Grandma went off for a birthday lunch. They were late coming back, so Hayden ventured into the classroom with Dad and preceded to totally ruin 'silent reading' time!
He then became the topic of a Maths lesson on measurement where the chn had to guess Hayden's measurements and compare them with their own. It is safe to say that dad had no control over the children for the rest of the afternoon as Hayden had done his best to stir them all up!! Welcome to school life son!

XXXII - Holiday
We had a great week on the NSW coast over the September school holidays. Hayden had his first plane ride, which he coped with really well. Spent a night in Newcastle before heading up to Nelson Bay for a few nights, then back down to Bateau Bay to stay with Auntie Trace for another couple of nights.
Didn't sleep all that well. Had a cold for the first day or two, and then a new tooth decided to pop through. Went swimming in the resort pool at Nelson Bay, and then at the beach in Bateau Bay. Practiced lots of commando crawling. Went from doing donuts on the Friday, to actually getting places on the Sunday.

XXX - beer, footy and cars
Hayden is still not quite crawling. He is really good at it though! Going backwards and donuts are now a fine art.
The following photos are from the footy tipping count up at Roslyn Primary. Beer and footy must be an innate thing...

He didn't win the tipping, but he did pretty well for his first season. Final score was up over 100, and that was with half the season tipped in advance.
Hayden has decided that if he can't get places crawling, he will just learn to drive early. So far Granny has been happy to let him take over the wheel, but we'll see how long that lasts.

XXIX - dad
Very exciting yesterday - Hayden started to say Dad.
Now all he needs to do is work out what it means!

XXVIII - progress
Our little boy is a waif! I had a session down at the Health nurse on Wednesday so I put Hayden on the scales. He is up to 8.59kg (that was with clothes on). Sounds respectable, except that the other boys were weighed and they are up over 9kgs!
No time to keep typing, must go and feed the boy!!!!

XXV - the wedding

This weekend Hayden went to his first wedding. It was a bit of a battle for him to actually take in the ceremony as he was sitting up the back near the musicians, and they seemed to be doing their best to try to get him to sleep. Very hard to keep the eyes open. He was very well behaved, although he did leave the service a little bit early (only because he wanted to be the first to see the bride come out???)
His dad had fun getting him all dressed up (especially spiking up the hair) but like most, Hayden was pretty happy to get his boots off at the end of it all.
XXIV - update on all things Hayden
It's been a while...
Hayden is now having three feeds of solids a day. He has been a very lucky boy, one of the few Australian babies of his generation to have real banana!!! He's been eating pumpkin, sweet potato, zuchinni, parsnip, carrots, avocado, apples, pears, strawberries etc. He has also recently been having some lamb and veges, and chicken, noodles and veges. Then there have been the tastes of chocolate mousse, ice-cream, lemon tart, fish and chips, hamburgers etc.
He also has his first tooth coming through.
Still trying hard to crawl, though not getting anywhere (except maybe backwards!). He is also doing lots of circles and rolling. We never quite know what to expect when we go to get him out of his cot as he has little adventures in there too.

He still enjoys the car. The car seat has been turned around in Grandma and Grandad's car so that he is now facing forwards. Still waiting for dad to turn it around in his car though. Hayden and I had the car last week and we went to pick up dad from work. When I went to get Hayden out of the car I noticed that he had blood all over his botties and overalls. Turned out he had a little cut on his finger (still a mystery as to how it got there). It must have been quite deep as it bled for about half an hour.
